WELDING, FABRICATION & DESIGN
John Ashton Howson is an Exeter based independent metal work designer with 20 years of blacksmith and steel fabrication experience. He spent his apprenticeship at V E Beer & Sons before setting up his own independent business and forge/workshop locally. He specialises in creating individual but practical metal work designs in both contemporary and classic styles using traditional blacksmith techniques - with a modern edge.
His work is predominantly steel fabrication - he replicates panels to restore vintage cars and motorcycles and quotes as required to produce sign frames, railings, gates, etc.
John also hand crafts an extensive range of be-spoke products in steel, copper, stainless steel, aluminium and other materials including wood.
He designs with imagination as well as strength in mind. Attention to detail, exceptional quality, strength, durability and finish are paramount.
